Sudberry Properties announced Wednesday it has begun construction of The Hub at Scripps Ranch, a mixed-use development featuring 260 apartments and 11,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

The nearly 10-acre project, located at 9850 Carroll Canyon Road just east of Interstate 15, will include five 4-story garden-style residential buildings and high-visibility locations for restaurants and retailers.

The apartments will range from one to three bedrooms with 614 to 1,391 square feet of space. Interior amenities will include stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, wood-style flooring and in-unit washers and dryers.

The project will open in phases, with the first apartments and commercial spaces available for occupancy in the fourth quarter of 2020.

“Sudberry Properties has been planning The Hub at Scripps Ranch for several years and has collaborated with local leaders to create a vibrant residential and commercial center with much-needed workforce housing and restaurants. We’re confident that The Hub will make a vital contribution to the wonderful community of Scripps Ranch, including the surrounding businesses,” said Colton Sudberry, president of the San Diego-based developer.

Since its founding in 1979, Sudberry Properties has developed approximately 12.6 million square feet of commercial and residential property with a market value exceeding $2.5 billion. Major projects under development include Millenia Commons in Chula Vista, Breakwater in Imperial Beach and Civita in Mission Valley.
