The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Saturday for the 27th consecutive day and the 39th time in the past 40 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.788, its lowest amount since April 6.

The average price has dropped 31.2 cents over the past 40 days, including 1.4 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 6.4 cents less than one week ago and 25.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.7 cents more than one year ago.
