The more than 40 shops and restaurants at the One Paseo development in Carmel Valley are preparing to open, many by mid-March.
Developer Kilroy Realty opened the project Thursday night for a preview, with 14 of the new businesses opening their doors or offering samples of their cuisine.
Shops opening soon include Faherty clothing, Marrow Fine jewelry and Urban Beach House surfing gear, while among the restaurants are Shake Shack, Ways & Means Oyster House and Tender Greens. Complete lists of shops and restaurants are available online.
Brian Lewis, senior vice president of retail development, described the curated retail area as “a place to be, not just a place to go.”
The design of the shopping area features open walkways, chic barn structures, courtyards, and plazas to create a “country-coastal vibe.”
In addition to the shops and restaurants, the 23-acre “city within a city” will feature 608 luxury apartments and two office buildings in a walkable environment.
Pre-leasing of apartments begins in April, and the offices will be finished in 2020.
