Optimism among San Diego businesses ticked up in January, showing solid bullish sentiment as 2019 began, the Regional Chamber of Commerce reported Wednesday.
The chamber’s monthly Business Outlook Index was 18.8, up substantially from 14.9 in both November and December.
“The business outlook this month is up about four points and back on par with the previous six-month average,” said Tom Wornham, chief executive officer of CalPrivate Bank, the sponsor of the survey.
“We are also seeing increased optimism and a more bullish outlook on revenue among small firms,” he noted.
The survey was fielded Jan. 14-30, 2019 by Competitive Edge Research & Communication using responses from 202 randomly-selected members of San Diego-area chambers of commerce.
