The Jamul Casino will hold a grand opening ceremony and poker tournament Friday to celebrate the opening of its poker room.

The poker room includes 10 game tables, a full bar and table-side dining according to the casino. Players in the inaugural Golden Cap poker tournament will have a shot at a $50,000 prize pool and the chance to play alongside professional poker player Tiffany Michelle and ESPN poker commentator Norman Chad.

Casino visitors can buy in to the tournament for $500 and a $50 entry fee, beginning at 10 a.m., according to the casino. The tournament will begin at noon.

“We are constantly listening to our guests and are thrilled to accommodate the growing market for a high-stakes poker room, said Jamul Indian Village Chairwoman Erica Pinto. “The Jamul Casino Poker Room will be a popular addition to the casino.”

The casino is located at 14145 Campo Road in Jamul. Grand opening ceremonies for the poker room are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
