Dallas-based Mill Creek Residential Trust has broken ground on a 7-story, luxury apartment building in downtown San Diego’s East Village.

Modera at 14th and K streets will feature 368 units in studio, 1- and 2-bedroom configurations in three different architectural styles.

Amenities will include two outdoor courtyards, a 5,100-square-foot sky lounge with pool and spa, a fitness studio, co-working spaces, a bowling lounge, a dog run and controlled-access subterranean garage parking.

ā€œSan Diego is rapidly becoming one of the most pedestrian-friendly cities on the West Coast, and the East Village is transforming into a destination locale for new residents,ā€ said John Colletti, vice of president of development in Southern California for Mill Creek.

ā€œWe’re thrilled to add this community to the neighborhood’s robust entertainment, retail, restaurant and cultural amenities, and we believe Modera San Diego will address the market’s booming growth while serving as a premier housing option in the area,ā€ he added.

Initial move-ins are projected for spring 2021.

Mill Creek has developed apartment communities in 73 markets nationwide with over 19,400 apartment homes open or under construction.
