Local direct marketing association SD Direct has announced its 2018-2019 board of directors with Vanessa Allen of Allen Associates serving as president.
“As direct marketing strategies continue to evolve, we’re excited to bring to our members high-impact, relevant discussions led by senior marketers in San Diego county and beyond,” said Allen.
“It’s an honor to serve alongside this amazing team of marketing veterans and to welcome returning and newly elected board members who are vital in facilitating SD Direct’s signature monthly lunch-and-learns, annual SURGE conference, and social mixers.”
Lori Enfield with Argen Corp. will serve as secretary and Gerry Shukert with ecoATM Gazelle will serve as treasurer.

Jacob Tyler Announces Two New Staffers
Jacob Tyler, a San Diego-based branding and digital agency, has announced the hiring of Elise Limbaga as account supervisor and Tania Pena as senior project manager. Les Kollegian, CEO of Jacob Tyler, said Limbaga and Pena will spearhead branding and digital initiatives for the agency’s clients.
The agency said Limbaga has 12 years of experience in biotechnology, life sciences, education, food and beverage, health care, nonprofit and technology. Pena has 10 years of project management experience with such brands as Royal Caribbean, Tylenol, Kawasaki, Retin-A Micro, Bausch and Lomb and UCB Global.

Oster Hires Media Sales Expert Joyce Bergen
Branding agency Oster and Associates has hired Joyce Bergen as director of business development. Bergen, with more than 30 years of broadcast radio sales experience, spent the past 20 years at radio station 100.7 KFM-BFM.
“I’m taking my 30-plus years of experience in broadcast sales and management and applying my talents to the agency side of the business,” said Bergen. “My passion for partnering with clients in many diverse categories and my strong business relationships in Southern California and beyond will allow me to create connections and partnerships for the mutual success of our clients.”
A Chicago native, Bergen attended Western Illinois University and focused on business administration and management.

Gaslamp District Media Added Music Box for Oktoberfest
Gaslamp District Media has announced it is partnering with Music Box, a concert venue and event space company, to manage its venue marketing and events initiatives. Music Box offered a VIP admission area for the recent West Coast Oktoberfest held Oct. 6 and 7 on India Street in Little Italy.
Gaslamp District Media was founded in 2011 as Dekan Pacific Limo Bus, which later became known as Party Naked Nightlife. In 2013, the company changed its name to Gaslamp District Media. Its current clients include Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, Parq Restaurant & Nightclub, RMD Group, Sidebar and GBOD Hospitality Group’s concepts, Mezé Greek Fusion, El Chingon, Havana 1920, Mezé at Liberty Station, Prohibition Liquor Bar and Monkey King.
