San Diego-based Organics Unlimited, a grower and distributor of tropic fruit, reports that its Mexican farms have reached peak production of bananas.

“We’re very excited about our banana production being at peak levels in our Mexico operations,” said Mayra Velazquez de León, president and CEO. “Our healthy and great-tasting bananas experienced challenges this winter due to weather, but once again, we’re able to swiftly and consistently fulfill all orders and deliveries while being environmentally responsible.”

Organic bananas from Mexico are a primary focus for the company because its trucks can quickly deliver them to the marketplace while leaving a small ecological footprint. April through September are typically the highest banana-producing months in Mexico.

Organics Unlimited grows certified organic bananas, as well as organic plantains and organic coconuts in Colima, Mexico, and Ecuador using sustainable practices.
