Toys’R’Us will close up to 182 stores nationwide, including three in San Diego, as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization plan.

The plan to close up to 20 percent of the chain’s stores was revealed in court filings released late Tuesday.

Going-out-of-business sales are expected to begin in February and be completed in April.

“The reinvention of our brands requires that we make tough decisions about our priorities and focus,” Chief Executive Dave Brandon said in a letter posted on the company’s website.

The San Diego County stores are at 1240 West Morena Boulevard in Mission Valley, 8181 Mira Mesa Boulevard in Mira Mesa and 1990 University Drive in Vista.
