San Diego-based Jerome’s Furniture announced Monday the opening of two Dream Shop mattress stores and said it plans several more throughout Southern California.
The new Dream Shops, located in Mission Valley and Solana Beach, follow the opening of the first in downtown San Diego over the summer.
“The first stand-alone Dream Shop location we opened in Downtown San Diego this past summer has exceeded all expectations, so we’re looking to expand the concept throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in addition to San Diego,” said Brian Woods, CEO of Jerome’s Furniture.
“We see significant opportunity to fulfill a genuine consumer need to provide top-tier mattresses at our every day low ‘Jerry’s Prices,’” he added.
The company said it currently sells a third of all mattress in San Diego, and sees the specialized shops as a way to offer better customer experience and more value. Personnel at the new shops go through extensive training to ensure “they’ve got what it takes to help customers choose the right mattress.”
Founded in 1954, Jerome’s Furniture is a third-generation family business with 13 home furnishings stores and three Dream Shops.
