The Dallas-based Dave & Buster’s, a restaurant known for its massive arcade and entertainment venue, will open its latest location in Carlsbad this month.
The company, which currently has a location in Mission Valley, boasts 40,000 square feet of entertainment space and more than 170 arcade games. The venue, which will be located at The Shoppes at Carlsbad, will also offer its signature American cuisines and three private event spaces.
“I’m excited to open the doors and let the entire area experience Dave & Buster’s,” Cory Gallant, general manager of the Carlsbad location, said. “I think we’re going to make a splash.”
Gallant said the new location will be similar to the Mission Valley venue, but will have a “modern and sleeker” look. The Mission Valley location opened in 2001.
He said the company chose to open in Carlsbad to better serve the North County community.
“It’s a thriving area with just a lot of potential for growth,” Gallant said. “It’s a perfect spot halfway between Orange County and San Diego. We will offer something for everyone – from foodies and gamers, to sports fans and party planners.”
Carlsbad’s Dave & Buster’s, which is most known for its arcade, will offer the latest games including Ghostbusters, Star Trek and a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.
To kick-off its opening, which is scheduled for Jan. 30, Dave & Buster’s will collect donations for the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The company, which was founded by David Corriveau and James “Buster” Corley in 1982, currently has more than 90 locations throughout North America.
