Elected in November 2015 as president‐elect, he has served as secretary and chaired the association’s Ethnic Relations & Diversity Committee and Diversity Fellowship Program. He also was a board member of the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association.

“The SDCBA is the central connection point for lawyers in San Diego, and the hub of our legal community,” Freestone said. “Each and every lawyer and SDCBA member contributes something unique to the organization’s vibrancy and success. I am honored and privileged to serve my peers in this capacity.”

Freestone earned two bachelor’s degrees from UCLA, and his law degree from the University of San Diego. He was a judicial extern for Associate Justice Judith L. Haller of the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

Attorneys Frank Barone, Renée Galente, Patricia Hollenbeck, Garrison “Bud” Klueck and Christopher  Lawson have been elected by the SDCBA’s membership to serve three‐year terms on the board.

Stephanie Chow, Jodi Cleesattle, Roger Haerr, Srinivas Hanumadass, Rick Layon, Lilys McCoy, Jan Maiden, Dino Paraskevopoulos, Anna Romanskaya, and Johanna Schiavoni will continue their service on the board in 2017.

The 2017 SDCBA Board of Directors will take part in an installation ceremony at Stepping Up to the Bar, the Association’s annual holiday reception. This year’s event will be held at 401 W. A St. in the lobby beginning at 5:30 p.m. and is complimentary for SDCBA members.

Directors are elected at large by the membership for three-year terms, with one director elected from East County, one from South Bay and one from North County.

Founded in 1899, the San Diego County Bar Association is the region’s oldest and largest law‐related organization and the hub of the city’s legal community, headquartered in downtown San Diego.
