DeskHub, a co-working space for startups that is partnering with the respected CONNECT accelerator, opened an 8,000-square-foot expansion Friday in Little Italy.

“Alongside San Diego’s innovation economy, we’ve grown and we’re ready to help more startups grow,” said Jay Chernikoff, founder and CEO. “DeskHub is committed to supporting San Diego entrepreneurs with an affordable and collaborative environment that allows them to get up and going immediately.”

Deskhub San Diego opened in August 2015 with just six companies and now serves as a home for over 60 local startup, nonprofits and small businesses.

To support this growth, DeskHub expanded from 15,000 to 23,000 square feet at its 2159 India Street location in Little Italy. The expansion space includes additional private offices, increased common space, a second kitchen and a hammock.

CONNECT, San Diego’s original startup accelerator, is partnering with DeskHub to provide workshops and networking for startups at the facility.

“Our new partnership with CONNECT builds on our mantra of community-building and will take us from collaborative space to collaborative accelerator, which will ultimately help San Diego’s innovation economy,” Chernikoff said.

DeskHub is a Scottsdale, AZ-based company with co-working facilities in five Western cities. Co-working is growing in San Diego and across the country as an alternative to dedicated office space for startup companies.
