Construction crews will break ground Friday for a 14-story suite hotel near the downtown San Diego waterfront in Little Italy.
The Carté Hotel & Suites San Diego at 401 West Ash Street will feature 240 rooms and 3,900 square feet of street-level retail space.
The project by Pierpoint Managment is designed and engineered by Latitude 33 Planning & Engineering and Tucker Sadler Architects.
“When it’s complete, this hotel will provide a world-class hospitality experience and some of the area’s most stunning views of San Diego’s beautiful waterfront,” said Latitude 33 Principal Matt Semic.
Construction is anticipated to take 18 months with the first hotel guests arriving in June 2018.
