XETV/CW6 San Diego has announced it will carry 13 Atlantic Coast Conference college football games this fall in a return to live sports programming.

Games will air from 9 a.m. to noon starting Saturday, Sept. 3. The games follow the “CW6 News in the Morning Weekend” show (8-9 a.m.). It’s the first time since July 2008 that Channel 6 has carried live sports, according to Chuck Dunning, CW6 VP and GM.

“At that time, we were a Fox network affiliate we carried a Yankees-Red Sox baseball game,” Dunning said. “The ACC is one of the six collegiate power conferences where its champion qualifies for the BCS (Bowl Championship Series). This addition is just another piece to CW6’s 21st century program strategy of being unique, exclusive and DVR-resistant.”

ACC teams include Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Christian Publishing Company for Sale

Selah Media Group, publishers of Refreshed, a San Diego-based, Christian, faith-based lifestyle magazine, is for sale, reports Lamar Keener, owner. “Publishing is not what it used to be,” said Keener, who changed Refreshed from a four-color magazine to tabloid newspaper format in January of this year. Also, the publishing schedule changed from monthly to every other month with the March-April 2016 issue.

Keener entered publishing in 1988 when he purchased what was then called the San Diego Christian Classifieds that was founded in 1983 and he renamed it Christian Times.  In 2003, it became the Christian Examiner. In 2014, Christian Examiner changed from a newspaper to a monthly magazine printed on glossy paper.

In addition to Refreshed, Keener recently added the title of executive director of the Evangelical Press Association, whose members include Christian magazines, newspapers and newsletter. He was named executive director of the 300-member trade group in January 2015, but in April of this year became the first fulltime executive director in the association’s 68-year history.
