San Diego Gas & Electric has been ranked the most reliable utility in the West for the 10th year in row, receiving the ReliabilityOne award.
The awards are issued annually for each region of the country by PA Consulting Group, a global company serving the electric utility industry. Florida Power & Light Company received the national award for highest reliability.
“This award is such a tremendous honor, and highlights the fact that we are continuously improving to serve you better tomorrow than we are today,” said David L. Geier, vice president of electric transmission & system engineering for SDG&E.
SDG&E said its customers on average experiences about one power outage every other year lasting an average of 60 minutes.
The company was also recognized for its quick response to outages caused by the May 2014 wildfires.
