A shopping center that is located along the gateway route to the University of San Diego has been upgraded to a new contemporary design to make it a gathering spot for the Linda Vista community.
The Presidio at Linda Vista Road and Napa Street underwent its first major renovation since 1966. The center is used by thousands of USD students and faculty, and is also known as the original home of the Ballast Point craft brewery.
“This kind of renovation, which provides a contemporary, vibrant storefront for small businesses and adds value to the surrounding community, is an excellent addition to the Morena District,” said City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf, who represents the area, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. “Neighbors and business owners alike have identified the potential of this area to become a unique place to visit with their families, support local businesses and recreate.”
Carlsbad-based Capstone Advisors acquired the property last year with plans for a major renovation.
“The Presidio are a great example of our continued effort to acquire underutilized real estate where we can add value through extensive renovations and really make a difference to the tenants and their customers.”said Alex Zikakis, president of Capstone.
