The East County Chamber of Commerce, the city of El Cajon, Parkway Plaza, and Valley of Cars will host a ‘Rollback Tax Event’ On April 15 at 11 a.m., to celebrate the announcement of the city of El Cajon rolling back taxes.

The rollback ends El Cajon’s special half percent sales tax, which was specifically put in place to improve public safety facilities. In April, El Cajon became the only city in California to rollback its sales tax in 2015, which was reduced from 9.0 percent to 8.5 percent. By comparison, 43 other cities and counties across the state elected to renew or increase their sales tax.

The East County Chamber of Commerce will illustrate the $8.6 million savings to El Cajon residents and visitors with a display from the Valley of Cars, merchandise from Parkway Plaza and an oversized check presentation to a representative of El Cajon residents.

In attendance will be Mayor Bill Wells, City of El Cajon, Jill Kobe, General Manager, Parkway Plaza, Chris George, President, Valley of Cars Dealers Association, Eric Lund, General Manager, East County Chamber of Commerce, Civic, Business and Community Leaders

The vent tales place at Parkway Plaza (Northeast corner between Ulta and Charming Charlie) 415 Parkway Plaza El Cajon.
