Some McDonald’s restaurants in San Diego will experiment with offering all-day breakfast menus next month, the fast-food chain confirmed Monday.
Morning offerings like Egg McMuffins and Sausage McGriddles are traditionally available only until 10:30 a.m. McDonald’s has cited tight kitchen space as the reason, according to multiple media reports.
“We know our customers love McDonald’s breakfast and they tell us they’d like to enjoy it beyond the morning hours,” McDonald’s spokeswoman Terri Hickey said. “So next month, we will begin testing all-day breakfast at select restaurants in the San Diego area. We look forward to learning from this test, and it’s premature to speculate on any outcomes.”
She said she didn’t know the specific starting date of the test run.
The Oak Brook, Illinois-based restaurant will conduct its experiment in the home base of rival Jack in the Box, which is headquartered in San Diego.
