The nation’s No. 2 retail chain announced Wednesday a change in its return policy for certain store-branded items.

At the same time, Dow Jones reported that the retailer is raising its minimum wage to $9 an hour, effective in April.

“The announcement comes just about a month after Walmart said that it would up its starting wage to $9, giving an estimated 500,000 workers a raise,” Reuters reported.

Target operates stores in San Diego, Chula Vista, Santee, Vista, Escondido, National City, Rancho San Diego, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, Poway, El Cajon and Encinitas. Two new county stores will open in October — one at 17170 Camino Del Sur, the other at 3030 Grape St.

The refund news from the Target site:

Now all guests have a full year to return or exchange any products from Target’s huge assortment of 32 Target owned and exclusive brands. That means a whopping70,000 items are now covered under the new one-year return policy. Nice.

Archer Farms, Nate Berkus, Simply Balanced, Sonia Kashuk … These are the brands you can’t live without and Target is just as passionate about their value and quality as you are. You don’t have to give up the other brands you love, Target just wants to make it easier—and simpler—for you to shop for the brands you won’t find anywhere else.

And Target’s new, extended return policy doesn’t just apply to its owned brands.
