It will be part of the first phase of The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, expected to open in the spring.

“Living in the area, we know what people want, and we also love to support local companies,” said Annie Glenn. “We know The Village will be an exceptional center and Urban Girl is honored to be a part of this beautiful new development.”

When it opens in May, the shop with a modern cottage feel will feature lines including Toms, Billabong, L Space Swimwear, Voluspa Candles, Maui Jim, San Diego Hat Co. and Urban Girl’s own accessory label, as well as a variety of goods from local suppliers and businesses.

Urban Girl will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The Village will be north of state Route 56, east of Carmel Valley Road and north of Del Mar Heights Road.

According to a U-T San Diego report, The Village will take up 24 acres and include 331 apartments, 150,000 square feet of retail space and a football-field-sized town square.

Lead tenants are reportedly a Trader Joe’s grocery and Rite Aid pharmacy, “with up to six restaurants occupying 25,000 square feet fronting on the village square and other spaces planned for shops and professional offices,” the U-T said.

The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch also will be home to skate shop Overload, Total Vision Care, and Pacific Highlands Dentistry/My Kid’s Dentist and Orthodontics.

Overload carries a wide variety of skateboard apparel and accessories geared toward teens and adults from brands such as Vans, Nike, Converse, Ray Ban and Overload’s own label. The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch location will be the second Overload store for owner Aaron Churder, whose first location opened in North Park in 2000.

“There really isn’t anything similar to what we offer at Overload in the Carmel Valley area,” Churder said. “We are looking forwarding to bringing the community exclusive, limited edition items that are currently not available nearby.”

Two medical groups — Pacific Highlands Dentistry/My Kid’s Dentist and Orthodontics and Total Vision Care — will neighbor the boutiques. The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch will be Total Vision Care’s third location in San Diego.

The husband and wife team of Dr. Kim Plattner and Dr. Steve Klein will provide a range of services and products including eye exams, a large collection of fashion frames and sunglasses, customized eyeglass lenses and contact lenses, specialized testing and treatment for dry eyes, allergies, glaucoma and other medical eye conditions along with co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery.

Klein is a national speaker on advancements in eye care, frequently traveling the country to speak about the newest technology and treatments in vision care.

Pacific Highlands Dentistry/My Kid’s Dentist and Orthodontics, scheduled to open in June, will provide comprehensive care.

The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch serves the communities of Pacific Highlands Ranch, Carmel Valley, Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Del Mar, Santaluz and other surrounding areas.
