The beachfront Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach received a $2 million makeover as part of the hotel chain’s “not your grandfather’s” Hilton program.

The five-month effort brought a new look to the hotel, from the lobby and restaurant to bedrooms and bathrooms.

Rooms received new carpet, textiles and curtains, chairs, ottomans and bathroom tile. The restaurant has a new menu, featuring local food and craft beer, as well as a new bar and new furniture.

The lobby was also updated, with new carpet and furniture.
