Cyber Monday may not yet have the cachet of Black Friday, but it’s a lot easier to shop from your computer than to brave the traffic and crowds.

Some $2.3 billion was spent last year on Cyber Monday, and this year is expected to reach $2.6 billion. Many surreptitiously shop at work, but the biggest hour for online sales is 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday.

Here are five San Diego deals:

1. Get Away to Paradise

Stay in Coronado at the Loews Coronado Bay for 20 percent less. The company is offering discounts on Cyber Monday at many of its hotels, but we know that Coronado is the best.

2. Play Well with Children

Buy a family membership to the New Children’s Museum and get a 25 percent discount. A family of four can get unlimited access to the museum for a year for $80 on Monday. Check the museum’s website on Monday for a special promo code.

3. Listen to Great Music

The San Diego Symphony is offering $25 tickets to selected concerts, but only online. Khachaturian, Elgar, Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Shostakovich have never been so affordable. There’s jazz mixed in as well.

4. Send Flowers

National online flower retailer ProFlowers began in San Diego, so remember it when you need to send a beautiful arrangement. On Cyber Monday, on every order above $100, shoppers will receive a free wreath or centerpiece from ProFlowers.

5. Keep It Safe

This isn’t a deal, but good advice, which is always priceless. ESET, an international software security firm with U.S. headquarters in San Diego, advises Cyber Monday shoppers to make sure their computers have the latest anti-virus software, don’t click on email links, stick with trusted sties, avoid public wifi, and use credit instead of debit cards.
