Bast/Wright Interiors, one of San Diego’s best known interior design firms, has changed its name to McCormick & Wright to acknowledge Kellie McCormick’s contributions to the firm over the past 16 years and her new position as principal.
McCormick & Wright will continue to specialize in custom high-end interior design for residences in San Diego County and second homes around the country, as well as select commercial interiors.
Current projects include the UCSD Chancellor’s residence, a spectacular 1920s Spanish Revival, several oceanfront renovations, the San Diego Charger’s corporate offices and the Jack in the Box executive offices.
“This is a natural transition to acknowledge Kellie’s enormous contribution and leadership,” said Robert Wright, president of McCormick & Wright.
“In addition to being a talented and creative interior designer, she has been the driving force behind technological advances and management innovations within the firm,” said Wright, noting that he spotted Kellie as a rising design star in one of the interior design classes he taught at San Diego State University in 1997.
The firm was started in 1985 by Jan Bast as Design & Space, and changed to Bast/Wright Interiors in 1991 after Wright joined the firm. McCormick & Wright has offices in Hillcrest and La Jolla.
