Hop on the bus for the San Diego Book Crawl beginning Saturday at 13 San Diego County independent book stores.

The crawl continues through Monday at:

Here’s how it works: Pick up a Book Crawl Passport and collect stamps at book stores by making a purchase of $10 or more at each stop. The more stamps earned, the more prizes participants receive, including stickers, pins, totes and mugs.

This year’s official Book Crawl tote bag is designed by longtime library supporters Toshwerks and sponsored by publisher Canterbury Classics. In addition, Author Ambassador Susan Lee, who writes young adult romances, will visit all of the participating stores.

Also, for the first time, there will be shuttle buses on Saturday to carry bibliophiles to their favorite destinations, but it’s proven popular – all three buses are sold out.

The crawl celebrates Independent Bookstore Day, set aside on the last Saturday in April for fans to enjoy exclusive books and literary items, contests and more. Almost 2,600 locations remain in the U.S.
