Head out for the music or the movies at the Spreckels Organ Halloween Spooktacular Saturday.

The Spreckels Organ Society will host its Halloween concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with the Phantom of the Opera accompanied by the organ, the largest open air musical instrument in the world.

Doors open at 5 p.m. though for a haunted Spreckels Organ Pavilion experience. Guests can choose a spooky tour of the Spreckels Organ – with two options (very scary or G-rated).

The Halloween concert includes selections from the popular Phantom … performed by soprano Anna Belaya and tenor Bernardo Bermudez with Raul Prieto Ramirez on the organ.

In addition, fun and haunted silent movies by Harold Lloyd and Roscoe Arbuckle will be shown, accompanied at the organ by Russ Peck, while Thriller San Diego will dance to Michael Jackson’s iconic haunted hit.

All concerts on the Spreckels Organ are free to the public in accordance with the 1915 Deed of Gift whereby the brothers John D. and Adolph Spreckels gave the organ and pavilion to the city of San Diego. Donations are always accepted.
