The Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO) will host a three-concert series of Americana, country, and blues music in September to support preservation efforts.
The Friday afternoon series at 3 p.m. begins Sept. 2 and continues Sept. 16 and 30. Tickets for “Music at the Marston: Concerts for Historic Preservation” cost $10 for SOHO members and $12 for the public.
The concerts, outdoors in the rose garden at Marston House, tucked away north of Balboa Park, each will spotlight three artists sharing music, and stories.
The slate for each show:
Sept. 2 – Donn Bree, Dana Duplan, and Eric Neilson
Sept. 16 – Dennis Doc James, Mark Montijo, and Thea Tochihara
Sept. 30 – Jeff Berkley, Bobo Czarnowski, and Sandé Lollis
Guests should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets or picnics. Light refreshments will be available for purchase too.
SOHO events raise awareness about historic preservation and the sense of place that historic buildings, sites and landscapes can evoke. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will support the musicians, and arts and culture programming for Marston House.
