
Tickets remain for two of the authors appearing at Point Loma Nazarene University beginning Tuesday for the 27th annual Writer’s Symposium by the Sea.
Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber, founder of the House for All Sinners & Saints in Denver, opens the event at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Her books include Accidental Saints and Shameless.
New York Times columnist and television commentator David Brooks follows at 7 p.m. Wednesday. He will speak about one of his recent books, The Second Mountain.
Friday’s event with prominent academic Cornel West is sold out.
General admission costs $15, with $5 tickets set aside for students, and additional fees for those who want books with their tickets. Warwick’s in La Jolla is partnering with PLNU to provide the books.
In addition, the second Driftwood Film Festival will take place Thursday as part of the symposium. The fest, hosted by festival organizers in partnership with two PLNU departments, features short films by students.
The events take place at the campus’ Brown Chapel.
