The Art of Élan’s 15th season – titled “Regeneration,” continues Sunday as Grammy Award-winning violinist and producer Johnny Gandelsman performs at Balboa Park and in La Jolla.
First up, on Sunday, he’ll take the stage at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Institute of Contemporary Art Central in the park, performing “This is America,” an hour of new music for solo violin featuring a diverse lineup, including Adeliia Faizullina, Christina Courtin and Rhiannon Giddens.

Gandelsman will follow with a show at the JAI cabaret space in the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Monday. He will explore the complete suites for unaccompanied cello by J.S. Bach, but on the violin.
