Gourmet tastings from culinary artisans including Michael Mina, Richard Blais and Nyesha Arrington will be among the treats in the palate portion at the fifth annual KAABOO in September.
KAABOO has released its palate and artwork lineups for the event that features music, food and art Sept. 13-15 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Palate, which offers upscale local and regional delicacies and small-batch specialties from selected culinary artisans, also includes chefs Antonia Lofaso, Eduardo Garcia and Travis Swikard and Ryan Gilbert.
Offered tastes include Bing Bling Dumpling, BRA-BOZ, Broad Street Oyster Co., Everbowl, Madre! Oaxacan Restaurant & Mezcaleria and Mariposa Ice Cream. See the list here.
Other offerings include eats from Mariposa Ice Cream, Miss Mini Donuts, Morton’s the Steakhouse, Napizza, Nacho Taco, Poseidon Del Mar, Red Hat Coffee, Red O Taste of Mexico, Shawarma Point, So Rich! Chocolates, Stoked Poke, The Baked Bear of Carmel Valley, The Barbecue Experience and The Oceanaire Seafood Room.
The San Pellegrino Palate Stage will feature demonstrations by Michelin star honorees, James Beard Award winners, and Iron Chef and Top Chef contestants and judges.
The gourmet food can be paired with dozens of limited production wines, craft libations or craft beers.
In the artwork area, contemporary artists Greg Mike, Yellena James, Georgia Hill, Carly Ealey and Caia Koopman, along with over 70 additional galleries and artists, will showcase their work through live mural paintings, art installations and exhibitions.
Throughout the fairgrounds, murals up to 30 feet tall will evolve over the course of the weekend.
Artists featured this year include pop-art artist Greg Mike, abstract illustrationist Yellena James, Australian multidisciplinary artist Georgia Hill, California native pop-surrealist Caia Koopman, naturally inspired, Spanish street-art specialist Sabek, ethereal muralist Carly Ealey as well as Kai’ili Kaulukukui, Kalani Ware and Madeleine Tonzi.
Earlier this year, KAABOO announced the music lineup featuring Kings of Leon on Sept. 13, Dave Matthews Band on Sept. 14, and Mumford & Sons on Sept. 15.
Other performers slated for the upscale event include Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, OneRepublic and Maren Morris.
Twelve comedy acts feature Bert Kreischer, Pete Holmes & Friends, Wayne Brady and Bob Saget.
Daily schedules will be released closer to the event.
Switchfoot, a San Diego Grammy Award-winning alternative rock band, also has been booked for the music festival.
Three-day Hang Loose passes, which include entrance to HUMOR ME, are priced at $339 with a $26.95 fee.
Three-Day Hang Five passes, which include premium stage viewing and access to AMPLIFY Escape Lounge sell for $919 plus a $41.95 fee.
Three-day Hang Ten passes, including access to backstage KAABOO Artist Lounge and Hang Ten lounges, and opportunities for Meet and Greets with artists, costs $3,999 plus a $131.30 fee.
Three-day Ultimate Hang passes have sold out, organizers say.
Three-day parking is $115, three-day preferred parking is $175 and three-day valet parking is $240.
