Cohn Restaurant Group is serving up a unique blend of fine dining with support for important nonprofit causes in the San Diego area.
During October, November and December, the group offered a special “menu with meaning” at three of its restaurants to raise money for the La Mesa-based Boys to Men Mentoring Network, which helps disconnected, often fatherless boys become good men.
Diners who chose a special three-course menu at one of the restaurants — BO beau Kitchen + Garden in La Mesa, Vintana Wine + Dine in Escondido and Blue Point Coastal Cuisine in the Gaslamp — were rewarded with a unique culinary experience while the restaurant contributed 20 percent of menu proceeds.
In January, Cohn Restaurant Group presented Boys to Men’s Executive Director Craig McClain with a check for $3,372.92.
“Menus with Meaning is a powerful expression of the Cohn family’s aspirations for our community,” McClain said. “Leading by example, they encourage San Diegans to come together, create joyful memories and do their part to make San Diego stronger. Boys to Men is grateful to be included in the Cohn Restaurant Group’s circle of giving.”
Beginning with one diner in 1981, the Cohn Restaurant Group now owns and operates over 24 restaurants in Southern California and Maui.
