A San Diego 11-year-old and her team won NBC’s “Genius Junior” Sunday evening, earning a grant that will help the children continue their education.

Michi Synn and her team Geeks on Fleek bested 11 other teams and received the most correct answers in the finals, beating The Dorkside and The Fast and the Curious.

The bubbly tween is not only doing research at a cancer immunotherapy company, she is also an accomplished poet. She is proud of her doll collection and eventually wants to be a pediatrician.

The show, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris Jr., quizzed the youths’ intellectual prowess in math, spelling and memorization. The winning team got to take on The Cortex, which the show dubs the ultimate test of mental endurance.

“I was completely awe-struck and inspired by these amazing kids,” said Harris. “I knew we would be dealing with bright, ambitious youngsters when we began casting, but they exceeded all my expectations. Not only are they off-the-charts smart, but they are incredibly well-rounded and sweet. Meeting these kids filled me with hope for the future.”
