The growing urban village of Civita in Mission Valley will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday with a free concert from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the development’s central park.

The Mighty Untouchables, a San Diego band, will perform a mix of current top 40 hits, Motown, classic rock, Latin and country.

For children, there’s an interactive display of exotic birds and a bounce house.

The event event takes place at Civita Park, located at the intersection of Civita Boulevard and Russell Park Way. Guests are invited to bring blankets and a picnic dinner, or select from a variety of food trucks.

Civita will launch its fifth annual “Sundown Sunday” free concert series on June 3, with a return performance by the Calphonics dance band.

Other scheduled concerts include Finnegan Blue on July 1, Funhouse on July 29, Jarabe Mexicana on Aug. 26 and Betamaxx on Sept. 16. These summer concerts run from 6 -7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater in Civita Park.
