The 20th annual production of Dr. Suess’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” opens Nov. 4 at the Old Globe Theatre and it promises to “jump right off the pages” of the classic children’s book.
Running through Dec. 24, the holiday family favorite directed by James Vásquez transforms the Old Globe into a snow-covered Whoville, right down to the last can of Who-hash.
Tickets are now on sale, with prices starting at $37 for adults and $24 for children (17 years and under). Children under 3 will be admitted to 11 a.m. performances only, which are open to all ages; children under the 2 are free at these special performances, but must occupy the same seat and sit on the lap of a parent or guardian in attendance.
Regardless of age, each audience member, including babes in arms, must have a ticket to be admitted into the theatre.
There will be a special sensory-friendly performance of the production for children on the autism spectrum and their families, as well as other families with special needs, on Dec. 9 at 10:30 a.m.
All performances will take place on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
