The highly-anticipated KAABOO music festival is this weekend, featuring Tom Petty, P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others.
The annual event at the Del Mar Fairgrounds features three days of top music acts, art and comedy. Guests can also expect an impressive culinary line-up, featuring top chefs including Richard Blais, Robert Irvine and Kevin Gillespie.
But the festival is popular for its musical acts. Aside from the other top names, David Guetta, Kesha, Ice Cube, Jason Derulo and Alanis Morisette are all expected to make an appearance.

Taste of South Park
Indulge in the fine culinary selection in South Park this Saturday. The trendy neighborhood is hosting Taste of South Park where guests can sample bites from all the neighborhood restaurants. For $35, attendees can try everything from Station Tavern to Eclipse Chocolate to Buona Forchetta. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
‘La La Land’ in the Park
Experience the romantic musical “La La Land” at Heritage Park this Saturday. Hosted by the county of San Diego, guests can watch the movie in Old Town for free. Prior to the movie, there will be live music. So bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets and dinner for a warm night out at the park.
Bazaar del Mundo’s Santa Fe Marketplace
The best of Southwest’s Native American jewelry, art and crafts will be on display and for sale at Bazaar del Mundo’s annual Santa Fe Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Authentic Native American jewelry, art, crafts and décor will be showcased from Navajo, Cherokee, Hopi, Pima, Isleta Pueblo and Santo Domingo Pueblo tribe members, along with other noted Southwestern artists demonstrating and selling their goods.
San Diego Ultimate Women’s Expo
From beauty exhibits to entertainment to cooking and baking, the Ultimate Women’s Expo has it all. The event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, features keynote speakers Melissa Rivers, Mariel Hemingway and Brooke Burke. Guests can also expect more than 500 boutique vendors, DIY workshops and other events. Tickets are $5 per person.
Landlubbers Day at Seaport Village
Pirates are welcomed back to the waterfront for the third annual Landlubbers Day, a free event to celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day, which is officially on Sept. 19. Running from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Landlubbers Day will feature live music from the Jackstraws, a costume contest (including a new category for four-legged friends), “Talk Like a Pirate” contest, a mermaid grotto with photos opportunities, pirates booty food and drink specials and crafting for kids
