Del Mar’s popular summer twilight concert series begins Tuesday with with the first of five free events at Powerhouse Park on the ocean.
The first concert begins with The Flounders at 6 p.m. followed by Sully & the Blue Eyed Soul Band at 7 p.m.
Other concerts in the series sponsored by the Del Mar Foundation are:
- July 11 — Jocko and the Aces at 6 p.m.; DSB – The Next Best Thing To Journey at 7 p.m.
- Aug. 8 — The Setting Sons at 6 p.m.; The Ultimate Stones at 7 p.m.
- Aug. 22 — Clay Colton Band at 6 p.m.; The Mighty Untouchables at 7 p.m.
- Sept. 10 — Whitney Shay & Robin Henkel at 4 p.m.; Sensation Show Band at 5 p.m.
“This might be the strongest lineup we’ve ever had,” said T. Pat Stubbs, chair of the foundation’s twilight concert committee.
Concertgoers may put out blankets and chairs starting at 8 a.m. in Powerhouse Park on the morning of a concert. Dogs on leash are welcome.
