Celebrate the many different Asian cultures in the region with the eighth annual Asian Cultural Festival.
The event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Mira Mesa Park, will feature live entertainment across two stages including a Khmer Lao dance troupe, hula dancers and the Jam Fusion Band.
Attendees can also expect plenty of vendors, restaurants, arts and crafts, a fashion show and a Ramen eating contest.

Cinco de Mayo Concert
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a free, family-friendly concert in Balboa Park featuring Jarabe Mexicano and the SDSU School of Music and Dance Jazz Ensemble, and SDSU Wind Symphony. Enjoy contemporary and classic Latin music featuring Mexican favorites like Granada and Querida, and a special tribute to the music of the late Juan Gabriel. The concert will take place at 6 p.m. with pre-concert activities beginning at 4 p.m.
San Diego Vintage Flea Market
Head to North Park for a vintage flea market. The event, which takes place Sunday, features vintage goods from more than 100 vendors. Guests can expect anything from clothes to furniture to kitchenware. The market takes place from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Chalk it Up
The Rancho Bernardo Community Council will host its seventh annual Chalk it Up art event this Saturday. The event, which takes place from 8 a.m to 3 p.m, allows attendees to express their creativity through art and chalk. The best drawings on the sidewalks will receive prizes. The event is free and open to the public.
Walk for Animals
Support for the San Diego Humane Society this weekend with Walk for Animals. The two-mile walk takes place at NTC Park at Liberty Station from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. The event includes a pancake breakfast, activities for the four-legged friends and a vendor village. Registration is $40 for adults and $20 for children under 17.
Horton Plaza Park Anniversary
Celebrate the one year anniversary of the beautiful Horton Plaza Park on Saturday. Festivities include live music by Ben Carroll and Maria Z, a yoga class and a water and light show. There will also be food trucks and yard games. The celebration starts at 4 p.m. and is free.
LakeFest
Chula Vista will host LakeFest, a family-friendly event at Mountain Hawk Park, on Saturday. The event, which takes place from noon to 5 p.m., will include live music, food and craft beer. The featured bands will be Sprung Monkey, Unwritten Law, and The Montel Jordans. There will also be plenty of activities for kids, including archery, BMX demonstrations and a rock-climbing wall. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
