Celebrate Mother Nature at the annual Earth Fair in Balboa Park this weekend.

The fair, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, is the largest Earth Fair in San Diego County. Hosted by San Diego Earth Works, the fair features hundreds of environmentally-friendly exhibitors and vendors.

Visitors can also expect live entertainment, artwork featuring recyclable materials, a parade, a food pavilion and more.

The event is free and open to the public.

Soul Train Revue

The Lafayette Hotel in North Park will be hosting a funky dance party and contest, featuring the 14-piece funk band, the Schizophonics Soul Revue this weekend. This 70s-themed party will take place at 7 p.m. Friday. Guests can purchase tickets to enter the dance contest, where they will get 15 seconds to show off their best moves. Winners will receive prizes ranging from a free stay at The Lafayette to a dinner for two at HOPE 46.

Poetic Youth Literary Festival

Poetic Youth, an organization offering free poetry and writing workshops to San Diego’s underserved youth, will host a literary festival this weekend. This two-day festival and book fair will offer young poets unprecedented access to dynamic literary performances and breakout workshops with writers from San Diego and beyond. Workshop leaders will include Chingona Fire, Shannon Linzer, Katie Harroff, and Kevin Cullen.The festival, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and is free and open to the public.

San Diego Asian Film Festival Spring Showcase

Pacific Arts Movement is hosting the 7th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival Spring Showcase this weekend. The festival runs through April 27 and brings more than 20 films from 10 countries to Ultrastar Mission Valley. This year’s program ranges from socially-minded documentaries to uplifting comedies.

Chula Vista Maritime Week

Chula Vista is hosting Maritime Week through Sunday. The event celebrates the beginning of boating season and features activities at the Chula Vista Marina. Guests can expect a tour the Bill of Rights, a classic wooden 136-foot gaff-rigged schooner. Classes, seminars and workshops on boat building are also available. To top off the event, the Pacific Rim Festival will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bayfront Park, featuring food and dance.

Chicano Park Day

The 47th annual Chicano Park Day celebration will take place this Saturday. The family-friendly event will feature traditional dance and music from performers such as Ballet Folklórico Nanahuatzin, Ballet Folklórico Yaqui and Ballet Folklórico CalifAztlan.

2017 Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair

Head over to Linda Vista for the 32nd annual Multi-Cultural Fair and Parade. The event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, features live music and performances, food, and activities for the kids. Attendees can also expect a parade that celebrates all the cultures found in the San Diego neighborhood.

Quintessential Craft Beer & Wine Festival

The La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary’s 4th annual Quintessential Craft Beer & Wine Festival takes place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Nobel Athletic Fields on 8810 Judicial Drive near Interstate 805. The dog-friendly event features unlimited samples from 18 craft brewers, five regional wineries plus eight Southern California distilleries. In addition to beer, wine, rum, gin,whiskey and vodka, there will be organic sausages, cheese balls, chocolate and cupcakes. Tickets are $30 in advance; $40 at the door; and $15 for active duty military.
