“Blue Century Project” by Ingram Ober

How can motion and movement be represented in a work of art?  Ten San Diego artists answer this question in an exhibit opening Saturday at the Fleet Science Center.

So Moved: The Art and Science of Motion” explores the “notion of motion” through classic hands-on science exhibits and the motion-based works of art on display.

Areas of exploration include rotational and circular motion, wave motion, random motion and the illusion of motion.

The exhibition was born out of a desire by the Fleet to collaborate with San Diego’s community of artists, many of whom are scientists, engineers and educators themselves.

So Moved will be open through June 11 in the upstairs Rotunda Gallery of the Fleet Science Center.
