Explore San Diego County’s museums this month with the annual Museum Month.
The event, sponsored by Macy’s, allows residents to attend more than 40 local museums at 50 percent off. Just pick up a Museum Month Pass at any Macy’s location in the region.
Some of the participating museums include the Fleet Science Center, Junipero Serra Museum, the Japanese Friendship Garden, the San Diego Air & Space Museum and the New Americans Museum.
The pass is valid for up to three people. Museum Month runs through Feb. 28.

Lunar New Year Festival
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at a festival at Qualcomm Stadium. The festival, hosted by the Little Saigon Foundation, will feature live entertainment, authentic Vietnamese and Chinese food, carnival rides and a Pho challenge. The festival takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. .
SeaWorld’s Lunar New Year
Continue the Lunar New Year celebrations at SeaWorld. Visitors can expect to see Chinese acrobats, lion dancers and Asian-inspired food. The celebration runs through Feb. 20 and is included in a general admission ticket.
Burn Run 5K
Support the Burn Institute this weekend with the Burn Run 5K The nonprofit is hosting the race Saturday at Road Runner Sports. Proceeds from the race will support burn prevention programs and burn survivors. Registration is $30 per person but those who raise $50 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. The race begins at 8 a.m.
Looking for a good deal on some cool items? The Escondido History Center is hosting a Rummage Sale on Saturday. Visitors can expect to find collectibles, treasures and other fun items. The sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grape Day Park in Escondido.
Enjoy Disney’s latest musical, “Freaky Friday” at the La Jolla Playhouse. The musical, which runs through March 12, tells the story of a mother and daughter who swap bodies on a Friday. Based on the book by Bridget Carpenter, the audience will be taken on a fun and funny adventure into the lives of the duo.
