A local photographer is opening a gallery in La Jolla Saturday with artwork focusing on San Diego’s jewel of a seaside community.

“This town needs a gallery where people can find local imagery,” said Aaron Goulding, who specializes in surf, landscape, seascape, sea life and portrait photography. “There are a lot of people who really love La Jolla, and they love every little corner of it, and I’m one of those people.”

“I want to show the world what I have seen for the past 25 years in and around the ocean — all the beautiful sunsets and sunrises by the sea, waves, and sea life, all from the water, land and air,” added Goulding, a former professional body boarder who lives in La Jolla with his wife and three children.

With its seven miles of majestic curving coastline, La Jolla is famous for its 300-foot sea cliffs, rocky reefs, coves and active sea life.

The 1,300-square-foot Aaron Goulding Photography Gallery, located at 1273 Prospect Street, will celebrate its opening at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, with a ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the La Jolla Merchants Association. Refreshments will also be served. Goulding will give away autographed posters to the first 100 guests
