The San Diego Symphony announced plans for a new jazz series with four concerts scheduled from November to May.
The inaugaral season of Jazz @ The Jacobs is curated by well-known San Diego jazz trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, who will appear in or before most concerts. The series features the following programs and artists:
- Nov. 21 — Living Jazz Legends and The Young Lions
- Jan. 23 — Jazz Piano Masters: A tribute to Thelonious Monk, Art Tatum and Bud Powell
- Feb. 19 — Jazz singer Dianne Reeves
- May 7 — Jazz vocalist and songwriter Gregory Porter
