The films, all made in San Diego, will highlight the beauty and diversity of America’s Finest City and underscore a message about the importance of sustainability from The 1 to 1 Movement. It will be the third year for the popular event, and organizers expect 1,200 people.
The 1 to 1 Movement is a San Diego nonprofit dedicated to promoting economic and environmental sustainability. Proceeds from the film fest will be used to support in-class and community-based education programs focused on food systems, water conservation, waste diversion, alternative transportation and energy.
Screenings are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, with a reception party scheduled between the screenings at 6:30 p.m.
The reception will include a “maker’s market” with 50 San Diego vendors displaying their locally made goods as well as local food, beer and wine.
Co-sponsors include Qualcomm, Co-Merge Workplace, SnowGlobe Studios and Karl Strauss Brewing Co. Tickets are available online at $15 per person.
