An international beer festival, featuring more than 400 brews from 15 countries, is featured starting Friday in the Del Mar Arena during the San Diego County Fair. The county fair’s Del Mar Arena offers free daily entertainment including motorized events, demolition derbies, motor sports competitions, equine events and talent competitions.

From Friday, June 19, through Sunday, June 21, enjoy some of the best beers in the world at the San Diego International Beer Festival. Winning breweries and beers will be featured at the festival, and “Champion Brewery” will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. VIP Lounge tickets sell for $105 and general admission for $62 for one of five sessions:
SESSION 1: Friday, June 19 (noon to 4 p.m.)
SESSION 2: Friday, June 19 (5 to 9 p.m.)
SESSION 3: Saturday, June 20 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
SESSION 4: Saturday, June 20 (4 to 8 p.m.)
SESSION 5: Sunday, June 21 (1 to 5 p.m.)
Tickets include fair admission and unlimited 1-ounce samplings of 400-plus beers.
June 17: The Del Mar Classic Horse Show features riders in Hunter/Jumper classes from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday, June 23 and 24: Mounted Shooting Western Competition that brings together riders from beginner to pro divisions. The Roy Rogers Rangers Mounted Shooting Club of San Diego County will produce this fast-paced, timed sporting event which requires high-level riding skill and superb pistol handling. Black-powder-only blanks with a maximum reach of 20 feet are used, so there is no spectator safety issue.
Thursday and Friday, June 25 and 26: Terracross Championships RZR will be at 1 and 5 p.m. It’s raced on a short, rugged course made for only the toughest off-road enthusiast during ten days of competition. The head-to-head competition will be on rough, muddy terrain. Premier classes of racing include Pro Polaris RZR 1000, Pro Women’s, Pro 4×4 Quad and Quad Speeding with Style.
Saturday, June 27: Antique Car Races will also occupy the arena’s dirt track first for some auto racing from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also on June 27, the Tuff Truck Open Class competition will be held at 1 and 5 p.m., followed by a day of Beach Buggy Racing and Street Class Tuff Truck Racing at 1 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28. at The VIP Class Demolition Derby and Open Class Demolition Derby will be on June 30 and Monster Trucks High Jump, Wheelie, Free Style, Trophy Kart Racing and Jr. Outlaw Sprints contests starting on Wednesday, July 1, and running through Saturday, July 4.
To close out the Fair, Calibre 50 & Banda Carnaval is the final concert of the Toyota Summer Concert Series, but it will be held in the Del Mar Arena. The concert is included with Fair admission, and reserved seats also are available for purchase.
