Mexican winemakers from both sides of the border will show off their latest wines at a special tasting Saturday at the SEA180 coastal tavern in Imperial Beach.

The “Baja To Napa” event brings together nearly 20 Mexican winemakers from the Napa Valley and the Guadalupe Valley. Cohn Restaurant Group sommelier Maurice DiMarino will lead a discussion of the unique perspectives of both winemaking regions, followed by a special tasting event on SEA180’s outside patio.

Wines from the Guadalupe Valley will include Monte Xanic, Fratelli Pasini, Vena Cava, Lechuza Vineyards, Cavas Valmar, Torres Alegre and Alximia Vinicola, plus Mexico’s oldest winery, Bodegas Santo Tomás. Napa Valley wineries at the event will include Renteria Wines, Delgadillo Cellars, Volcan Cellars, Gallegos Wines, Honrama Cellars, Voces Cellars, Llamas Family Wines, Robledo Family Winery, Gustavo Wines, Mario Bazan, Encanto and Avinedos.

The wine discussion is from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. following by the tasting from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickers are $40 per person for both, or $25 for just the tasting, and are available online.

SEA180, located at 800 Seacoast Avenue, offers expansive views of the Imperial Beach pier and Coronado Islands.
