An organ concert featuring animal-themed tunes will be followed by a pet parade Sunday at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion as civic organist Carol Williams teams with the San Diego Humane Society to host Bark in Balboa Park.

Chef Deborah Scott of the Cohn Restaurant Group and her rescue pups, Sophie and Belle, will step out with San Diego Humane Society President and CEO Dr. Gary Weitzman and his dog, Betty, at the vanguard of the parade.

They will be joined by Fox 5 News Weather Anchor Brad Wills and his pup, Bogey, and Max 105.7 FM personality Dave Mason and his dog, Jack.

This free concert from 1 to 3:30 p.m. celebrates the relationship between dogs and their guardians, while supporting the Humane Society’s mission to find homes for sheltered pets.

Pets on leash are invited to enjoy an afternoon of classics, marches and animal-themed organ tunes played by Williams. Ambassadors will be on hand to introduce adoptable dogs and cats to concert guests, as well as provide information and resources showcasing the Humane Society’s mission.

Williams conceived Bark in Balboa Park as a musical celebration dedicated to pooches and their music-loving families. She looks forward to taking the stage with her beloved Airedale rescue pup, Dietrich Buxtehude Bell, to once again set to music the important cause of shelter pet adoption.
