If the weekend is warm, you’ll enjoy a tall, cold one all the more at the Santee Street Fair & Craft Beer Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Riverview and Town Center Parkways. The event features live music and entertainment, more than 300 vendors and food booths, carnival rides and craft beers from the best brewers in San Diego. Admission is free, but the beer is not! Organizers expect a crowd of 60,000 over two days. Free parking and shuttles are available.
The San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon runs through town Sunday, starting at 6:15 a.m. on 6th Avenue at Quince Street in Balboa Park and ending at little more than 26 miles later at the intersection of 13th and K streets in East Village. If you’re running–good luck to you! Boston Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi will set the pace in 1:30 half-marathon. If you’re cheering on a runner or just want to get in on the fun, there’s live music along the course, and a concert and awards at the finish line at Petco Park.
The FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival will screen movies Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the North Park Theater. The international festival features the West Coast premier of a number of films, including Boy Meets Girl the U.S., Lilting from the U.K., and the graphic Floating Skyscrapers from Poland.
