La Jolla Concours d’Elegance: More than 150 beautifully restored antique, vintage and classic cars will be showcased against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean during the three-day Concours d’Elegance. According to the event’s website, past years have showcased horseless carriages, Italian marques, British marques, Woodies, 50’s classics, American sports cars, and the automobiles of Carroll Shelby. The annual event also offers a book signing, a motor tour, concourse and motor car classic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Scripps Memorial Park in La Jolla. Tickets are $40 to $275.

Art Alive Floral Exhibit: Art comes to life this weekend at the San Diego Museum of Art’s exhibition that features floral interpretations of artworks from the museum’s permanent collection. The 33rd annual event showcases the handiwork of more than 120 local designers, including Carlos Franco of Green Fresh Florals whose centerpiece work will transform the Rotunda for three days. Art Alive takes place from 9 a.m.t o 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Balboa Park. Tickets are $5 to $20. Members are free.

Justice for Sal, Gianni and Ilona Fundraiser: Relatives of brothers Salvatore and Gianni Belevedere and Gianni’s fiancee Ilona Flint will hold a fundraiser for money to bolster the reward fund in hopes of tracking down whoever murdered them last winter. Gianni Belvedere, 24, was found dead in the trunk of a car three weeks after his brother and fiancee, both 22, were shot to death in a Mission Valley parking lot on Christmas Eve. The benefit takes place from 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday at Eastbound Bar & Grill in Lakeside.

Day at the Docks: Day at the Docks marks the start of the spring saltwater fishing season in San Diego, and offers a full day of fun and free entertainment for everyone from guppies to old salts. The 35th annual event features boat rides on San Diego Bay, tours of sportfishing boats, fishing seminars, kids’ contests and prizes. Anglers will enjoy browsing the latest fishing tackle and testing their skills with casting competitions. 9 a.m. Sunday at the sportfishing landings at Scott and Garrison Streets in Point Loma.

College Area Taste: More than 20 restaurants will be open for College Area Taste with eateries offering menu samples from entrees to refreshments and desserts starting at 11 a.m. Sunday at the College Area Business Improvement District, 4704 College Ave. 

Fallbrook Avocado Festival: The 28th annual celebration of San Diego’s most popular fruit features a street festival with myriad vendors, entertainment, cooking contests, a beer garden, and plenty of avocado tasting, too. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on Main Street in Fallbrook. Admission is free.
