The fundraising event will support the center’s core initiatives, including resident engagement, redevelopment, economic opportunity, and place-making through arts and culture.

According to her website, Coltrane and  guitarist Shea Welsh are writing new material, and arranging new and classic standards, to create a unique modern/retro sound.

The event is scheduled for April 25 with a 6:30 p.m. reception, 7:30 p.m. program, and 8 p.m. dinner and entertainment. Single tickets start at $45. Tickets and more information are available at http://jacobspresents.com.

Founded in 1995, the center is a nonprofit foundation that works in partnership with the Jacobs Family Foundation and residents of southeastern San Diego to build a stronger community through entrepreneurial projects, hands-on learning relationships, and the creative investment of resources.
