A possible gang shooting near a South Bay convenience store left one person dead Tuesday.
The deadly gunfire erupted near the 7-Eleven in the 100 block of North Highland Avenue in National City about 11 a.m., police reported.
The shooter fled to the south in a vehicle that possibly was being driven by an accomplice, a dispatcher said.
The identity of the victim, who was described only as male, was not immediately available.
The shooting was believed to possibly be gang-related, according to police.
